In a devastating turn of events, six-year-old Lucy Morgan’s life was cut short in a freak accident while on vacation with her family in Limerick, Maine. A shattered racket handle pierced her skull, leaving her with severe injuries that ultimately proved fatal.
Lucy’s father, Pastor Jesse Morgan, shared the heartbreaking details on his blog, recounting how his daughter was rushed to the hospital and airlifted to Maine Medical Center in Portland. Despite emergency surgery, Lucy’s chances of recovery were slim.
In a poignant twist, Lucy had spoken about meeting God just a month prior, asking her mother about salvation and praying for forgiveness and belief in Jesus’ death and resurrection. Her father cherished this moment, calling it “a gift.”
As Lucy’s condition deteriorated, her father provided updates, expressing devastation at her brain death diagnosis. Medical professionals did everything possible, but her injuries were too extensive.
A GoFundMe page was set up to support the family, exceeding its initial target and approaching a new goal of $150,000. Organizer Jill Anthony wrote, “This page serves as a place to provide them extravagant financial support…whatever they need.”
After Lucy’s passing, her father shared a heart-wrenching goodbye photo, writing, “Lucy Lynn Morgan passed away…She now sees Jesus face to face.” The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this unimaginable time.
