In 2020, Kanye West leaked his contract with Universal Music Group on X (formerly Twitter) to talk about how fed up he was with record labels. But the “Praise God” rapper wouldn’t just lash out at a music label that one time. It would happen again and again. West criticized Atlantic Records and Cardi B, one of their big stars, in a video that has gone viral.
West called out a lot of people in the business during a phone call that looks like it was leaked from a program. West said, “Cardi B is a plot by the Illuminati.”

“She doesn’t write her raps,” he said. She’s only there to sound as stupid as possible. She has knowingly taken Nicki Minaj’s place… The thing is, it’s not a gift from the universe, but she thinks it is.
When Cardi heard what he said, she replied to her “Hot Sh*t” co-star in a subtle way with her own video. Lee from Hollywood Unlocked talked to West last year. During their talk, he told her how much he admired her.
West said, “I’ve always believed in her since she was on the show,” which seemed to be a reference to her time on Love & Hip-Hop: New York.
