Tameka Foster, Usher’s ex-wife, wants Lake Lanier in Georgia to be drained after her son Kile Glover died in a terrible jet ski accident eleven years ago.
This is part of a bigger plan to deal with the long history of accidents and deaths at the lake in question.
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources Law division says that there have been 14 deaths, 67 injuries, and 114 incidents connected to boating in the first half of 2022.
Since 1956, about 700 people are thought to have died at the lake.
Foster went on Instagram last week to talk about her boy and bring attention to the petition to drain the famous lake.
She wrote, “On this important day, July 6, we remember the terrible accident that happened on Lake Lanier and changed my life forever. Kile Glover, my brave son, fought for two weeks until he died on July 21. He never gave up. Today, we remember him by working together to make things better. Let’s make sure the future is safer by asking for better safety measures, better zoning, and the removal of the lake’s spooky stuff. Sign the petition with me and help spread the word about this important cause. Together, we can make a new start and make changes that will last. #JusticeForKile #SignForSafety #IWILLFIGHTTILLTHEENDOFMYDAYS.”
