Kevin Hart and Mike Epps are bringing a lot of laughs back to BET with the return of the network’s comedy showcase, “ComicView.” This weekend, as part of Hart’s 44th birthday party, live episodes of the show are being filmed in Las Vegas.
The star of “Die Hart” was born on July 6. A few posts on Hart’s Instagram Story showed that he had already started having fun with his family, friends, and famous people like Ludacris. Variety reported on the comedian’s new project with BET, which he had worked with before on his hit group show “The Real Husbands of Hollywood.”
“I’m thrilled to partner with BET for the return of ‘Comic View’ as part of Hartbeat Weekend, making this a can’t-miss celebration of comedy, music, and culture,” the comedy superstar said in a statement released on Friday, July 7. He said, “Since I’ve hosted “ComicView” before, I know firsthand what a great way this franchise gives comedians to show off their skills on a national stage, and I’m excited to keep that tradition going in Las Vegas.”
The news source says that Epps is in charge of presenting. He is also an executive producer, along with Hart and Tiffany Williams and Angela Aguilera, both of whom work for BET. On each of the four days, well-known artists like DC Young Fly, T.I., Tommy Davidson, Tacarra Williams, Tony T. Roberts, and Bresha Webb will play sets. The “Big S**t Poppin’ (Do It)” rapper’s first live stand-up show since he started his comedy career in 2022 is said to be in Vegas. There will soon be dates for when the shows will air.
The first season of “ComicView” aired in 1992, and it did well until 2008. In 2014, it was brought back for a short time with all new episodes. Besides Hart, D.L. Hughley, Cedric the Entertainer, Bruce Bruce, Rickey Smiley, and Sommore were also guests.
