Samuel L. Jackson and LaTanya Richardson Jackson have been married for 43 years. These days, it may be hard to find a relationship that lasts for a long time.
People says that the Snakes on a Plane star celebrated his 43rd anniversary with his wife LaTanya by posting a few Instagram stories. He first posted a black-and-white picture of the two of them holding hands and smiling. On it, he wrote “Happy anniversary” and said that it seems like they’ve been together for so long “in the blink of an eye.”
Then, he shared a cute colour photo with a joke that he was tested for 10 years before they got married, so they’ve been together for 53 years.
Since meeting in college, the two have never been apart. People said that they got married in 1980 and have a 41-year-old daughter named Zoe who is a producer.
He finished the sweet tribute by posting a video of them dancing and having fun together on a yacht with the words, “I think we can make 43 more!!! Love will last forever!!!!”

Black love doesn’t get a lot of attention in mainstream media, so it’s great to see couples like Morris Chestnut and Pam Byse or Angela Bassett and Courtney B. Vance, who spoke to LaTanya for an interview with People in March 2022 and told her the secret to a long-lasting marriage. They said they “made a pact” to stay together.
“At first, we always said that the most revolutionary thing Black people could do was to stay together and raise their kids with a father and a mother at the centre, since everyone likes to act like that’s not how African American families work. That it’s just women raising kids, which we know isn’t true,” the Broadway star told the magazine.
Samuel says that his wife saved his life and helped him become the well-known actor he is today because she was there for him when he had a drug problem in the 1990s, before his part in Jungle Fever, which put him on the map and launched his career.
“She gave me a chance to be the man I was supposed to be,” he said.
The Kill Room star said that a real relationship is between “two people who respect each other, love each other, and look out for each other.”
