A young mother hasn’t been seen since months after seeing a friend get killed in a plan that was meant to kill her.

After getting into a van outside of her job at Diva’s Bikini Sports Bar & Grill on September 21, Deundrea L. Ford disappeared without a trace. Around 1:00 a.m., Ford was seen getting into the car with an unknown man. After an hour, around 2:00 a.m., the 21-year-old called a friend, but the friend missed her call.

The next day, her family and friends found that her phone was off. Since then, no one has seen or heard from her. Even more troubling is the fact that Ford was the target of a failed theft in May, and the people involved seemed eager to hurt her.

On May 18, Ford was riding in the front seat of a car driven by his friend Otis Parker. He had just taken Ford and her friend Quitiana Taylor to Louisiana to dance and go on dates.

Jamal Brown, Mariah Green, and Jarrell Wheeler, on the other hand, came up with a plan to steal Ford’s $1,500 that they had earned on their work trip.

Brown fired a shot at Parker’s car, killing him but missing Ford by a hair. Brown was killed in a shootout with cops since then. The rest of the suspects have been caught and arrested, but police have found several texts that describe their plans to hurt Ford and say that she is no longer safe in Houston. Ford got a protection order against the people who helped her, but it’s not clear if they could still set her up while she’s in jail.

The police haven’t named the man Ford got into the van with after work. He did, however, sit in the parking lot for at least an hour before leaving, as shown on Diva’s security video. Right now, her family is begging for help.

“I just hope she’s still alive,” Bridgette Carriere, her grandma, told ABC 13.
