The first time ever that there have been three fathers legally listed on a child’s birth certificate.
This couple has gone down in the annals of legal precedent after a judge granted their request to have all three fathers listed on the birth certificates of their children.
The three parents, Alan Mayfield, Ian Jenkins, and Jeremy Allen Hodges, brought their children, a daughter named Piper and a son named Parker, into the world with the assistance of donated embryos and surrogates. In addition to Piper, who is now three years old, the trio also has a boy who goes by the name of Parker. He will be 14 months old soon. Both of the children were conceived with the help of an egg donor and a surrogate, so technically speaking, they are half siblings.
Because we weren’t sure whether or not we should receive birth certificates for the three of us, we decided to challenge the decision in court.
“It was a really interesting and tense courtroom scene where it appeared as though we weren’t going to be given that at first and we demanded to talk in court to plead our point of view and the judge finally changed her mind and gave us our child’s legal parentage before she was born,” the person said. “It was a really interesting courtroom scene where it appeared as though we weren’t going to be given that at first.”
Due to the fact that they are gay, they were unable to establish a family through surrogacy before Piper was born. This was the most difficult challenge they faced, despite the fact that many people supported their national setup, as restrictive laws prevented them from doing so.

Ian has recently published a book with the title Three Dads and a Baby, in which he details a significant portion of their history.
When asked why it was so important for him to put this into paper, he responded that they wanted everyone to know that love is what builds a family, and that’s what they wanted everyone to know. Yet despite the fact that some families may appear different from others, the only thing that mattered was that the parents cared about their children and did their absolute best to provide them the finest childhood possible. This was the only factor that was taken into consideration.
