Richard Gere rarely walks the red carpet with his wife, and the two of them could not be cuter together.
The 74-year-old actor has been married to Spanish activist Alejandra Silva, 41, since 2018. This was after he got divorced from his second wife, model and actress Carey Lowell, who gave birth to his 24-year-old son Homer. A beauty named Cindy Crawford was his first wife. They were married from 1991 to 1995.
Richard and Alejandra have been married for six years and are very happy together. They have two kids who are four and five years old.
The two looked very cute together on the red carpet at the 2024 City Harvest Gala in New York City this week.
The yearly event raises money for one of the first food rescue groups in the world, which has been around since 1982.
Page Six says that the charity event took place at Cipriani 42nd Street and was hosted by Taye Diggs. John Legend and Alex Cohen were among the guests, and Richard and Alejandra were happy to pose for pictures together.
The 74-year-old star from “Pretty Woman” was seen wearing a sharp navy blue suit with a pale blue shirt underneath. His 41-year-old wife, on the other hand, wore a black mesh dress with a sheer bodice and spaghetti straps, along with a silver glittery clutch and loose waves in her hair.
Richard gently put his arm around his wife’s waist as the couple, who are known for being very private, posed for pictures and talked to reporters before going inside to sit down.
They try to keep their relationship out of the public eye and don’t share many pictures of their kids. Also, they haven’t told the public what their youngest child’s name is yet, but their five-year-old is known to be called Alex.
Richard has been married twice before, and Alejandra was married to businessman Govind Friedland from 2012 to 2015. They have a boy together named Albert, who is 10 years old.
In the TV show The Supermodel last year, Cindy Crawford, 58, talked about her marriage to Richard. She said, “I just think your 20s are such a time for women to start to come into your own, feel your own power, and connect to your inner strength.”
She said, “He was older, so I was in a different circle and wasn’t doing some of those same trendy things anymore.” She also said that she was “willing to kind of mould” herself to fit in with her husband, who was 17 years older than her.
Before they started dating, Richard and Alejandra were longtime family friends. They are said to have met again when Richard stayed at one of the hotels that Alejandra’s family owns in Positano, Italy, in 2014.
He told the Spanish magazine HOLA! that he was getting married for the third time because “I have found the quiet and happy life that I have always sought.”
