What kinds of things did Usher’s Secret Garden hide?
There was a treasure trove of New York classics for people going to the singer’s after-Met Gala party. One of a kind crowds only shows up once a year on Met Gala Monday. There was a hot dog cart, ice cream sundaes with a “I heart NY” topping, and DJ D-Nice on the tracks. On top of that, it was in Times Square.

Usher took off his Alexander McQueen caped evening outfit and put on a maroon velvet suit with a big boutonniere for his party at the Times Square Edition Hotel after work. Leon Bridges, who was wearing a cowboy hat, and Ne-Yo got there early and helped start the party.

Someone set up a small area with buckets of coconut water and Hennessy, but the dance floor quickly became the real VIP area for people like Janelle Monáe (whose googly-eye dress got even more attention in the room), Taraji P. Henson, Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, Naomi Campbell, Michèle Lamy, Erykah Badu, Storm Reid, Coco Rocha, Ian Bohen from “Yellowstone,” and designers Willy Chavarria, Christian Siriano, Jonathan Simkhai, Andrew Kwon, LaQuan Smith, and Victor Glemaud.
“Shoutout to my brother Usher,” D-Nice said, and Usher smiled and kept dancing. Who knows, by the end of the night (or was it the middle?), even Wade was singing along with Union as they waited for the elevator to take them to their next stop.
