Top 20 most influential Black celebrities on social media

Based on the number of people who follow and interact with them on Instagram and Twitter, the lifestyle brand That Sister recently did a study to find the ten most important black celebrities on social media.

To make a social media impact score, the researchers looked at information from more than 20 of the most well-known black celebrities.

With a score of 93.18 out of 100, French football player Kylian Mbappé was named the most important black celebrity. It’s crazy that Mbappé, who plays for Paris Saint-Germain, has 97.1 million Instagram fans and 11.7 million Twitter followers. He also has the highest engagement rate on Instagram, at 12.09%.

Next on the list is Zendaya, an actor and singer who is 26 years old and has 166.8 million Instagram fans and 21.2 million Twitter followers. She gets a score of 85.95 out of 100 and comes in second. The third place goes to Khaby Lame, an Italian-born Senegalese star who went popular on TikTok in 2020. He has a score of 85.24 out of 100 and 79.7 million Instagram followers and 369,681 Twitter followers.

With a score of 83.41 out of 100, Egyptian football player Mohamed Salah comes in at number four on the list. Rihanna comes in at number two with a score of 79.78 out of 100.

Paul Pogba, an American football player, comes in sixth, followed by Cardi B, an American rapper, and Beyoncé. Beyoncé broke the record for most Grammy awards won in a single year.

Barack Obama, former US president, is ninth on the list with a score of 71.96 out of 100 and the most Twitter followers of anyone on the list with 133.3 million. Drake, a Canadian rapper, is tenth on the list with a score of 71.04 out of 100 and 130.8 million Instagram followers and 39.9 million Twitter followers.

An official from That Sister said this about the data: “In honor of Black History Month this February, this study highlights celebrities’ accomplishments and global reach within the Black community.”

“It puts a lot of attention on social media because it’s becoming more important in today’s world and because it can highlight the cultural achievements of Black people, fight for inclusion, and bring Black people in the US and around the world together.”
