This was exactly what happened to me when my boyfriend, Jake, asked me to move in with him, only for his mother to reject the idea on moving day.
I had packed up my entire life, excited to start this new chapter with Jake. But when I arrived at his house, his mother, Mrs. Henderson, was waiting on the porch, arms crossed and a disapproving look on her face. She announced that she had changed her mind and didn’t think it was the right time for us to live together.
