Megan Fox has called out her former neighbor after he criticized her for letting her sons wear “girls’ clothes”.

The furor started when former music video director-turned-self-proclaimed Republican freedom fighter Robby Starbuck tweeted an image of Fox and her three children to his 336,000+ Twitter followers.

Fox, 37, shares her three sons – Noah, 10, Bodhi, nine, and Journey, six – with her ex-husband Brian Austin Green.

In his post, Starbuck accused Fox of “child abuse”, writing: “These are Megan Fox’s sons.

“We used to live in the same gated community and our kids played at the park. I saw 2 of them have a full on breakdown saying they were forced by their mom to wear girls clothes as their nanny tried to console them. It’s pure child abuse. Pray for them.”

Adding further “context” to his post, Starbuck claimed that the alleged incident took place “five years ago” and said that “California wouldn’t do anything about it because the state celebrates this stuff and she’s famous”.

Starbuck then claimed to have worked with Fox on shoot briefly in the past, and that she was “very nice” to him.

Nevertheless, he continued his allegations against the Transformers star and her children, adding: “Just a very weird situation but clearly those boys weren’t happy. I never said anything publicly because they were so young and I thought it would stop because they were vocally expressing the desire to wear ‘boy clothes’.”

After Starbuck’s tweets amassed thousands of retweets, Fox responded.

Sharing a screenshot of Starbuck’s post to her own Instagram page, she wrote: “[H]ey @robbystarbuck

“[I] really don’t want to give you this attention because clearly [you’re] a clout chaser but let me teach you something… irregardless of how desperate you may become at any given time to acquire wealth, power, success, or fame – never use children as leverage or social currency.”

Fox added: “[E]xploiting my child’s gender identity to gain attention in your political campaign has put you on the wrong side of the universe.”

The actor then said that she has been “burned at the stake by insecure, narcissistic, impotent, little men like [Starbuck] many times”, but she is still here.

“[Y]ou f***ed with the wrong witch,” she concluded her post.

Fox received an outpouring of support from her fans, with one person writing in the comments section: “You and your beautiful kids are so loved, guided and protected. The world is still catching up and the new wave of kids coming onto the planet have so much to teach the world about love and self-expression. Thank you for being a fierce stand for them feeling safe to be who they are.”

A second added: “It’s probably never occurred to anyone that she ACTUALLY listens to her kids regarding what makes them comfortable and happy and sometimes it may mean letting them pick out a girly flower shirt to wear rather than forcing them to do/dress the way society thinks to make ya’ll feel better.”

In an interview with Glamour last year, Fox opened up about her children’s fashion choices.

“Noah started wearing dresses when he was about two, and I bought a bunch of books that sort of addressed these things and addressed a full spectrum of what this is,” she told the outlet. “Some of the books are written by transgender children. Some of the books are just about how you can be a boy and wear a dress; you can express yourself through your clothing however you want.”
