Hassan Haskins, a running back for the Tennessee Titans, was arrested on Thursday after a fight with his girlfriend got out of hand.

He was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation. Later that day, he was freed on a $10,000 bond.

Makiah Green, who was dating Haskins, was also arrested and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated attack by strangulation, and vandalism. Her bond was set at $2,500 for each charge, which she paid.

Haskins and Green are both set to go to court on July 10.

The arrest warrant says that the couple fought on June 22 because Green liked a post by another guy on Instagram. When they started fighting, Green went into Haskins’ room and threw his shoes on the floor.

As the fight got worse, Haskins “began to strangle her with both hands” for about “10 to 15 seconds.” Green stood up, and the two of them slapped each other before she fell on a dog box. Haskins choked her again, and when he let her go and left the house, the fight was over.

On June 29, Haskins and Green had a second fight at a restaurant, after which they both left on their own. When Green got back home, the fighting kept going, which led to her being arrested.

In a statement released on Friday, the Titans said, “We are aware of the situation and are gathering more information.”

The team picked Haskins out of Michigan with the No. 131 pick in the fourth round. He played in 15 games and started one. He ran 25 times and gained 93 yards.
