Tyler Amber was given the first scholarship from Mr. Cajun’s Daiquiri in Forney, Texas, on Wednesday night. The scholarship was given by Kia Mitchell.
Tyler will graduate from North Forney High School in the class of 2023. He hopes to go to Texas Southern University starting this summer.
Tyler has chosen to major in Entertainment and Business Management because he wants to make a change in the lives of young people. So, he will be able to teach the young people in his neighborhood about music and how the music business works.
Paul Taylor is said to have come up with the Mr. Cajun’s College scholarship, and Toni Franklin and Debra McGhee were praised for their hard work on the project as part of the Forney Juneteeth Festival’s education group.
Mr. Cajun’s Daiquiri is now going to New Orleans with the cash award.
They have asked anyone who wants to give to help raise more money for the scholarship to do so.
