GloRilla is talking about how she came to fully accept her signature voice and how she learned to stop and smell the roses instead of only thinking about the future.

GloRilla says that she used to feel “embarrassed” by her famous voice.
In a recent interview with Elle, the “Tomorrow 2” rapper talked about these things. She said that her voice made her feel “embarrassed” at first because Glo “wanted to sound like a girl.”

“When I first started singing, I tried to sound like a child. I was saying some tough things, but I did it in a girly way. I was trying to change my voice because I have a lower voice than most people. I felt embarrassed because I was trying to sound like a girl.

But when 2021 came around, GloRilla “changed her sound” and let her voice get “deeper and deeper” on her songs.

“That was the first time I changed my voice. That was the year when my voice got deeper and deeper.”

This is similar to what she said before about the same thing. Glo told The Cut in a January 2023 interview that her voice came out “squeaky” when she tried to “sound like a girl” when she was just starting out in the rap game.

After some of her friends told her this was wrong, GloRilla said, “I’ll just emphasize what I already sound like and add a little more sauce to it.”

Also, when people on Twitter commented on how deep her voice was in “Blessed,” Glo said in a funny way, “My voice is only this deep because my p***y is so good.”

The rapper appreciates her hard work and what she has done so far.
GloRilla also talked about accepting her “naturally deeper voice” and an important lesson she learned about being grateful for what she has and not being “so focused on the future.”

“The first win was for me to get to where I am now. My friend and I recently talked about how much we think about the future. We asked, “What else can we do to be better than what we’re doing now?” We don’t realize that what we have now is what we’ve always hoped for.”

Glo is all about living in the moment and loving the results of her hard work, but she’s still showing fans what to expect on her next project.

Since she was “on [her] hood s**t” when she recorded her Anyways, Life’s Great… EP, she plans to use “different sounds” in her next album. She tells her fans, though, that she’s still going to be “raw and uncut.”

“This [new record] will still be me—raw and unedited. But I just want to know what it’s like to be here and try out different sounds. Because I was always on my hood s**t.”
