The famous hip-hop artist Da Brat is full of feelings, and who can blame her?
She couldn’t wait to hug her new baby, True Legend, at her home in Atlanta.
“Look, I just threw this up. Every day, I cry. I just look at him and cry because I’m so thankful.”
People says that at 49, the rapper is figuring out how to be a mother.
“I’m 49, and I have high blood pressure and am at high risk. So many younger women than me want children but can’t have them, but I was able to get pregnant. It’s just a big deal. He is such a gift.”
Recently, Da Brat’s life has been full of good things.
She was famous in the 1990s for songs like “Funkdafied,” which she recorded in Chicago. In 2017, she fell in love with Harris-Dupart.
This marriage gave her the confidence to come out as gay.
“I’d been stuck in the closet for so long, I thought I’d never get out. But then I met someone who gave me the strength to be myself. Now I’m married and happy.”
On February 22, 2022, there was a big party for the wedding.
Da Brat Is Having the Time of Her Life
The busy couple isn’t just growing their family; they’re also growing their business.
The couple is getting ready to start a line of hair products for kids called “Kaleidoscope Kids.”
And as they get closer as a group at home, they enjoy taking turns being parents.
They take turns changing True Legend’s diaper and feeding him at midnight, but they always do it together.
“Who ever would have thought this? From 1994, Da Brat-a-tat-tat! I’m with a beautiful, successful woman who makes me feel whole and makes me want to be a better person. I’m so happy to be a mom. I never thought I’d be where I am now, but I wouldn’t change a thing. I’ll never need anything else again.”
From making hip-hop beats to talking about the gentle sounds of being a parent, Da Brat’s life shows us the many surprises that life can bring.
The former rapper’s life is now filled with joy, love, and thanksgiving.
