Ron Cephas Jones, who played William Hill on This Is Us and won an Emmy, has died. 66 years old.
A person who worked for the well-known actor told People that he had died.
“Loved and award-winning actor Ron Cephas Jones died at age 66 due to a long-term lung problem,” the statement said. “Throughout his career, everyone who met him felt his warmth, beauty, generosity, kindness, and heart.”
“He started his career at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe, and he has always loved the stage, as shown by the fact that he was nominated for a Tony and won a Drama Desk Award for his role in Clyde’s on Broadway.”
Jones played William Hill, Randall Pearson’s real father, on This Is Us. Hill is played by Sterling K. Brown. “He won Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series in 2018 and” again in 2020 for playing the part.
He had recurring parts on Law & Order: Organized Crime and Better Things. His most recent project was Truth Be Told. Jones has also acted in Law & Order, The Get Down, Mr. Robot, Paid in Full, He Got Game, NYPD Blue, and a lot of other shows and movies.
He had talked about his health problems before. In an interview with The New York Times in 2021, he said that he had chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and had received two lung transplants.
