Victoria Matosa has a terminal disease called Lipoedema, which causes fat to build up in her legs in an abnormal way. This has caused her to face many problems. She had to hide her body and deal with bullying because she had trouble moving around and people were mean to her, but now she is a great model.

Victoria Matosa, who was from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was called a “penguin” because of the way she walked on her strong legs.

She said, “I’ve always had big legs, but they got worse when I got my period. I couldn’t even wear shorts outside the house because I was too embarrassed. I stopped going to the beach and only wore leggings and pants, which was very uncomfortable. I also stopped hanging out with friends because I was embarrassed.

After she was identified with Lipoedema in February 2023 and realized she couldn’t do anything about the swelling in her legs, she decided to accept herself.

Concerning the possibility of surgery in the future, the model said about the online haters, “Because of bullying and pressure to always be working out a lot to lose weight, I tried many restrictive diets, which made me binge-eat. I used to go to the gym for three hours until I was too tired to keep going. When I quit, I couldn’t stop eating.

She went on, “It was a mix of feelings. Before, I blamed myself because I couldn’t lose weight in my legs no matter how hard I worked out. Now I go to the gym and eat foods that help reduce inflammation, but I don’t feel ready for surgery because I’d need three liposuctions. Every day I feel sad and down, but I try to accept myself and love myself more.

Hurtful comments made by trolls have made it hard for her to accept herself. Even so, she tries to forget about them.
