Sources close to the situation say that 45-year-old rapper Jay Wayne Jenkins, also known as “Jeezy,” and 44-year-old former co-host of “The Real” Jeannie Mai have chosen to split up because they have different “family values and expectations.”
According to the insider, the couple had different ideas about important parts of their relationship, and both of them felt that their needs were not being met fully, which led to this hard choice.
Jeannie Mai and Jeezy were first linked romantically in January 2019. In April of the same year, a source revealed that they were dating. In September 2019, they told the world about their love on Instagram. On March 27, 2021, they took the next big step by getting married in a small wedding in Atlanta, Georgia. When their daughter Monaco was born in January 2022, their happiness grew even more.
Jeezy already had three kids from past relationships, so he filed for divorce in Fulton County Superior Court on a Thursday not long ago. The court papers say that they are no longer together, that their marriage is “irretrievably broken,” and that there is “no hope for reconciliation.” Jeezy wants to share formal custody of their daughter with her mother.
Documents from the court show that the pair signed a prenuptial agreement the day before their wedding.
Even though Jeezy filed for divorce more than two years after they got married, he recently posted a vague message on Instagram that seemed to hint at the upcoming breakup. He wrote in the description for a group of photos, “Too focused on who I’m becoming to worry about who’s not coming with me.”
