On this New Year’s Day, ILOSM family, we have very sad news to share. Natasha Cole has died. She was 65 years old.

UPDATE: Natalie Cole’s family reported that she “died on December 31, 2015, which was New Year’s Eve”. They said this in a statement:

The news of the deaths of our mother and sister comes to you all with sad hearts. Natalie fought a hard and brave fight, and she died with the same honor, strength, and dignity with which she lived. Our mother and sister, whom we loved very much, will be missed a lot and will always be in our hearts.

This has been confirmed by TMZ, and this is what has been said so far:

Natalie Cole, whose singing was one of the best in decades, has died… TMZ knows now.

Cole recently got sick and had to cancel a few tour dates in late December. Some of her hits are “This Will Be” and “Unforgettable,” which she sang as a virtual duo with her dad Nat King Cole. She also had to cancel a show in February because she was sick.

She was 65 years old and had been married three times. She had a son.

This is very sad, and our thoughts and prayers are with Natalie Cole’s child and her family. Ms. Cole, please rest in peace. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for giving us such beautiful music that moved us…
