Next year, Bob Hearts Abishola will no longer work for CBS.

CBS said that the fifth season of Bob Hearts Abishola will be the last. The fifth season will start on CBS on February 12, 2024. The last episode of the show will air on May 13, 2024.

There is no official word on why the show was dropped, but in a statement, CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach said that the show had helped the network add more shows.

She said, “We are so proud to call Bob Hearts Abishola a CBS comedy because it helped start a new generation of shows on the Network.” “This series did a great job of showing a family love story, a workplace comedy about being an immigrant, and Nigerian culture in a way that was both funny and true to life.” The amazing creative team led by Al Higgins, Gina Yashere, and Matt Ross, as well as the acting skills of Billy Gardell, Folake Olowofoyeku, and the rest of the group, made this show and its characters come to life and connect with viewers. To honor it, we’re going to give fans the best shows to remember it by this spring.

Gina Yashere, Matt Ross, and Chuck Lorre, who are executive producers, also said something about the end of the show.
They said, “Bob Hearts Abishola is about an unlikely love story and the idea that immigrants make America great.” “We loved bringing these stories to life, and we can’t wait for fans to see the end of these two families’ stories and the amazing work of this cast and crew.”

Billy Gardell and Folake Olowofoyeku play a white businessman and a Nigerian heart nurse who don’t seem to go together. They meet when Bob has a heart attack and Abishola is the nurse who helps him. Bob then does everything he can to get Abishola to like him and start dating her. People have called the show a “comedic examination of immigrant life in America.”

When the show first started airing in the 2019–20 season, it was hailed as the number one new comedy. Since then, it has beaten out NBC, FOX, and ABC shows in the same time spot in terms of viewers.
