There was a sad event where Eric Schmitt-Matzen, 60, told a touching story. He often dresses up as Santa Claus to visit hospitals. It was very important for him to see Santa Claus right away because a nurse called him to meet a sick 5-year-old boy.
Erik went to the hospital right away. His first words to the child were “Hello” and “Did I hear you won’t be here for Christmas?” The boy, who was weak but happy, called him his favourite elf. He got a PAW Patrol toy from Eric, and the two of them hugged very hard.
When the kid asked Eric what happens after we die, he told him, “When you get there, you tell them you’re Santa’s number one elf.” The child died in Eric’s arms, which made his parents very sad.
When the mom cried, Eric carefully gave her son back to her. He thought about whether he could be Santa again after this very sad event. This sad event shows how little acts of kindness can mean a lot to people who are having a hard time.
