What great news! MC Lyte, whose real name is Lana Moorer, and her new husband, John Wyche, got married over the weekend in a beautiful wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica. They said their vows in front of family and friends. We couldn’t be happier for the happy couple who met on the internet and decided to take their relationship to the next level!
A few days before the wedding, Lyte had a bridal shower. Toni Braxton and Jada Pinkett Smith were among the famous people who came. So So Def’s founder, Jermaine Dupri, was the DJ for the event, and Kelly Price sang to the newlyweds at their dinner. The reception took place at the same hotel where the wedding took place.
Photos that Essence shared show that the couple looked happy and glowing as they said their vows under the warm Jamaican sun. Wyche said that he knew he wanted to marry Lyte after only a few months of getting to know her better. Both Lyte and Wyche spoke highly of each other. Both Lyte and Wyche had good things to say about each other. Lyte told Wyche that she finally felt like she could be herself around him and that she knew he was the right partner she’d been looking for all along.
As a longtime fan of MC Lyte, I find it hard to believe that she is so happy with her husband after being single for so long. But we couldn’t be happier for her, and we hope that she and Wyche have a long and happy life together.
