Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford have kept in touch even though it’s been five years since they worked together on “Today.” Recently, on Wednesday, Hoda Kotb, who is 59 years old, told her fans what Kathie Lee Gifford has been doing.
Kathie Lee Gifford wrote a new song called “3 Little Words,” which Hoda Kotb talked about on “Faves and Finds.” Hoda then told us about her old co-host.
“By the way, Kat is having the best time of her life right now. She’s in Nashville writing music,” Kotb said. “Kat, I love you; she’s making good music and playing with her cute grandchildren.”
It began in 2008 that Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb took turns hosting the fourth hour of the “Today” show. But Kathie Lee quit in April 2019, and Jenna Bush Hager took her place. When her husband died in 2015, she decided to leave because it made her realise how short life is. She told Jimmy Fallon about it and said her husband didn’t know he was going to be late that morning. After that, her mum also died.
Kathie Lee recently talked about transitioning to a new part of her life. Her husband and mother have both died, leaving her without a parent. Also, her kids have moved out. It dawned on her that she finally has the time and resources to do whatever she desires.
Gifford has moved to Nashville since leaving the NBC morning show. There she has been able to work on a book, her “dream project,” and watch her three grandkids grow up.
