Hearing that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are no longer together shocked everyone. All of a sudden, one of the most famous and important couples in Hollywood was no longer together. Fans were confused about what went wrong with what seemed like a perfect relationship.

The public saw one of the nastiest celebrity divorces ever happen when they fought over custody for a long time.

When Jolie filed for divorce, she said she had doubts about how her husband was raising their children because Pitt was said to have hit Maddox during a fight. There were investigations into this by the Los Angeles County Department of Children, but no charges were brought.

Now, years after they broke up, a new court document is said to say that Brad Pitt’s “physical abuse” of his ex-wife began before the famous plane incident in 2016.

When they sold the French farm they bought together while they were still together, things got even worse between them.

Pitt sued Nouvel, his ex-spouse’s business, in 2022 for selling her share of the winery. He said the two of them had agreed not to sell their shares without each other’s permission, and her sale “harmed the reputation of the business that Pitt worked so hard to build.”

Jolie wrote her ex-husband on January 21, 2021, and that email was made public. She says in the letter that she is writing “with a heavy heart” to let Pitt know that she has decided to sell Miraval, which is “an alcohol-based business.” Many people think this is a reference to the plane incident where Pitt is said to have choked Maddox and then thrown alcohol on her and the kids.

She also wrote, “Even now it’s impossible to write this without crying.”

More than anything else, it’s where we brought the twins home and got married over a memorial sign for my mother. I thought I would get old there. But it’s also the place where our family’s end began.

“For me, Miraval died in September 2016,” she said. “And everything I’ve seen since then has deeply confirmed that.”

At the time, it was said that Pitt offered to buy her share, but the business deal fell through because they were still going through the divorce process.
Pitt then asked Jolie to sign an NDA that said she couldn’t “discuss outside of court any of Pitt’s personal conduct toward her or the family” in order to sell the property. Jolie responded by sending Pitt sealed documents with information about what happened on the plane.

The request was called a “unfair gag order” by her.

According to news reports, new papers from Jolie’s lawyers were sent to Los Angeles Superior Court on April 4. These papers say that Pitt began physically abusing her before the plane incident.

It was the first time Pitt hit the kids as well as Angelina Jolie. Pitt had been hitting Angelina Jolie for a long time before the family’s flight from France to Los Angeles in September 2016. “Jolie then left him right away,” a copy of the move that CNN got read.

The papers don’t say much else, but they do say that they want to “prove through testimony, emails, photographs, and other evidence why Pitt was so worried about his own wrongdoing that he blew up his own deal to buy Jolie’s share in Miraval because she wouldn’t sign his new, more general NDA.”

A person close to Pitt is said to have said, “This is a pattern of behavior—every time there is a decision that goes against the other side, they consistently choose to introduce misleading, inaccurate, and/or irrelevant information as a distraction.” Pitt hasn’t said anything about Jolie’s actions.

“The custody case went on for a long time and talked about their whole relationship. After hearing all the evidence, the judge still gave him 50/50 custody.”
