Internet trolls often picked on the mother of a child with serious disfigurement, and she recently said that her daughter died at the age of ten.
Sophia Weaver died Thursday. She had a rare brain disorder called Rett Syndrome. She is shown with her mother Natalie, who is on the far right.
Olivia Weaver’s mother, Natalie, told everyone on Friday that her daughter Sophia had died on Thursday due to problems related to her Rett syndrome.
Natalie, from Cornelius, North Carolina, wrote on Twitter, “Our #SweetSophia left this earth last night filled with love and adoration, just like she did every day.”
“Once we get over this unbearable pain, we will start helping other people in her honour.”
Nicole, a health activist, said five days ago that Sophia “got sick really quickly.” This is sad news.

The hopeful mother wrote on Monday, “I’m really scared.” I’m sure my girl is strong and will get through this.
Natalie put Sophia in hospice care in February. She said she was determined to let her daughter live her last days to the fullest, without having to go through painful surgeries or treatments.
Nicole wrote in a tweet on April 26: “THIS is the definition of Bittersweet 30th & Final surgery.” Sophia’s last surgery was today.
“There should be no more hospitals, cuts, or scars.” She is getting better and is doing well.
People with Rett syndrome have problems with how their brains grow, and as a result, they can’t speak or learn to move their bodies the same way other kids do.

Sophia had 22 hard surgeries in her short life. She had a food tube and a colostomy bag, and she needed care 24 hours a day.
Natalie always stood up for her young daughter, whose disability made people stare and say mean things about her.
She was especially sickened to read an online comment that said the way her daughter looked was a good reason for abortion and that other people had used photos of Sophia to make mean memes.
Natalie spoke out about a planned change to Medicaid care in North Carolina. The tweet that she sent said, “Yea it’s okay to think that everything (child) matters however a lot of them do not hence the amnio test.”
That refers to amniotic tests, which can let parents know if something is wrong with their baby while it is still in the womb.

The nasty poster also said that anyone who found out their unborn child had a disability but chose to keep the pregnancy going should pay for all of the child’s medical bills.
Natalie made news when Twitter wouldn’t take down that tweet or ban the person who posted it.
In the end, they went down and said they were sorry they hadn’t taken down the poisonous letter earlier.
