He slept under multiple blankets, washed in cold water, and often wrapped himself in a sleeping bag for warmth. Despite his dire circumstances, neighbors chipped in by providing him with food, until one neighbor, under false pretenses, alerted the authorities in 2022.
Meanwhile, the mother, aged 39, was living three miles away with her new partner, according to investigations. She occasionally visited her son to drop off food, but the extent of her care remained questionable.
At eleven, the child was placed in foster care, while his father, residing in another town, escaped prosecution. Despite concerns raised by neighbors, the school did not intervene as the child appeared well-groomed and excelled academically.
