On January 28, 2021, Cicely Tyson died at the age of 96. The entertainment business and fans all over the world were touched by her death. Actor and director Tyler Perry wrote a touching tribute to his grandmother and his friend Tyson.

Perry told Tyson how he felt about her on social media, calling her his grandmother. He wrote about the late actress in the description of a picture of Tyson. Perry said that the day before Tyson died, he talked to her and promised to see her soon.

He writes, “As I worked at the table, I couldn’t help but “watch Miss Jane Pittman. I hadn’t seen the movie in a long time. I didn’t even understand” watching it. Is this you, God? I got up from the table and went to my office to watch the movie. I wanted to talk to her, but I had to watch the movie first.

After seeing the movie, Perry found out that Tyson had died. He was sad, but he was glad he got to talk to her one last time.

“I’m upset and sad at home because I can’t get in touch with my friend. Because I can’t call my friend, I can’t walk up to her door, give her a hug, and tell her I love her, respect her, and love everything about her. I cried myself to sleep. I thought about all the times I spent with her.”

At the end of his tribute, Perry thanked Tyson. He praised her for being one of the first African actors and artists.

“Tyson, Never forgetting you. You gave me and other people chances. You made me feel welcome in Hollywood. I have your hand and your soul. You helped me when I didn’t help myself. I will honour your memory. I will always get better because of you. We appreciate everything. “So long, buddy.”

Tyler Perry’s moving ode to Cicely Tyson shows how much she meant to people. Her work will be an inspiration to future generations, and her family and friends will never forget her.
