Hidreley Diao is a computer artist who” makes his art with the help of artificial intelligence. He works on a lot of different projects, like one where he tries to show what famous people looked like when they were young. Today, we want to talk about “his series of Disney characters as real people. But there’s a catch: some of the characters” are based on people who really exist.
Bright Side looked into who the original people were “that Disney characters were based on, and then we chose to see how much the “people” made by AI look like those people.
1. Ariel from “The Little Mermaid” is based on the actress Alyssa Milano”.
The actress didn’t know that she was used as a model for the role. After the movie came out, she found out that she was the model for the Disney princess.
2. Carl in Up is based on Ed Asner.
Ed Asner was at least partly based on the character Carl, for whom he did the voice work.
3. Irene Bedard is the model for Pocahontas.
The actor was the inspiration “for the Disney character, and she also gave the character a voice”.
4. Lady Tremaine from Cinderella is based on Eleanor Audley.
Eleanor Audley, the actress, also did the voice of Lady Tremaine, so the animation company tried to draw the character to look as much like Audley as possible.
5. The actress Marge Champion is the one who plays Snow White.
“When Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was being made”, “Marge Champion worked closely with the Disney production” company. The animation team closely watched how she moved “on the sound stage to make the character seem more real.
6. Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty is based on Maila Nurmi.
Some people thought “that Maleficent, like Lady Tremaine, was also based on Eleanor Audley. However, there were also rumours that the” actress Maila Nurmi was the real inspiration for the Disney character. “After the actress died, her old writings were found, in which she talked about working with Disney to make Maleficent”. This proved that it was true.
7. Tom Cruise was the model for Aladdin.
“The lead animator of the video said that Cruise was used as a model for Aladdin” because he was confident in “all of his attitudes and poses.” This may surprise you, but it’s true.
