At the White House, Joe Biden got a little too close to the actor. After speaking at a showing of Eva Longoria’s first movie as a director, “Flamin’ Hot,” the president embraced Eva Longoria. However, he let his hands hang around her waist for a bit too long before the actress grabbed them and took a step back.
Before they hugged, the oldest president ever had made an awkward joke about how old he was compared to Eva Longoria when they first met.
“We’ve known each other for a long time,” Biden told the crowd. “She was 17, and I was 40,” he said as a joke. Based on their birth dates, Longoria would have been 7 when the president was 40, and NYPost says Biden was 50 when they first met. Longoria had backed Biden for 2020 and was one of Obama’s biggest fundraisers.
Longoria had raised between $200,000 and $500,000 for the 2012 re-election effort of the 44th president. Some people on social media didn’t like the awkward hug or what Biden said about Longoria’s age. They called Biden creepy for making such a joke. One Twitter user said of the president, “He always seems like a creepy old man.”
Keith and Kevin Hodge, who are identical twin brothers and stand-up comedians and right political commentators, posted a comment on their account that made it sound like there were two different sets of rules at play. The account shared a tweet that said, “The media thinks it’s funny when Biden says it, but if [former President Donald] Trump said it, he’d be accused of rape.”

Someone else said, “Why does he find this funny?” It’s something he’s done before.” “Joe Biden almost had actress Eva Longoria in his grip,” one Twitter user said of the awkward moment. “Biden says from the White House that he has known Eva Longoria since she was 17 and he was 40: ‘She was 17, I was 40.'” Then, as they hug, he slowly moves his hands across her body,” Newsmax writer Mark Vargas wrote in a tweet. “And all the Democrats in the crowd just laugh.”

Some people didn’t like what Biden said, but some Twitter users thought it was funny. “Happy 57th birthday to Eva Longoria!” one person joked. Longoria, on the other hand, has been a Democrat supporter for a long time. She also helped start the Latino Victory Fund, which helps Latino candidates run for public office.

Longoria’s new movie “Flamin’ Hot” made its launch at the SXSW festival on June 9. It tells the story of Richard Montanez, the son of a Mexican immigrant who started working at Frito-Lay as a caretaker and worked his way up to become an executive. Flamin’ Hot Cheetos were made by Montanez, which is why the film is called Flamin’ Hot Cheetos.
“When I think about the movie we’re watching tonight, I think about bravery. “So many of you, your ancestors left everything they knew to start a new life in the United States,” Biden said about the movie. “This movie isn’t just about Richard,” said First Lady Jill Biden. It’s about everyone who has been overlooked or undervalued.” Her husband pointed out that it was the first time a picture with Hispanic characters at the centre was shown at the White House.
In the meantime, The Los Angeles Times published a story that disputed most of what Montanez said, and Frito-Lay said in May 2021 that the caretaker “was not involved” in making the spicy snack food. But the White House defended showing the movie by telling the Associated Press that it wasn’t a documentary and was instead meant to give Americans from different backgrounds a chance to see themselves in a movie and hear the president praise them.
