After a blowout with her morning show co-host Don Lemon, CNN’s Kaitlan Collins will now be taking over primetime.
On Wednesday, Kaitlan Collins worked a double shift, first alongside Don Lemon and Poppy Harlow as one of the co-anchors of CNN This Morning, and then later as one of the primetime anchors for CNN. Collins, who is 30 years old, had no trouble landing the midnight hosting role, a move that most certainly irritated her adversary on television. Collins appeared to be at ease while hosting the coveted time block, holding her own alongside CNN’s regular nighttime anchors as they discussed the grand jury’s highly-anticipated decision on whether or not to indict Donald Trump. Lemon, who used to dominate CNN’s coverage of the evening news, appeared to be uncomfortable in the role.
It’s an intriguing turn of events that has led to Collins being given a job that Lemon cherished so deeply. The move comes several months after it was revealed that Lemon had a temper tantrum in front of Collins, his much younger co-anchor, “screaming” at her and accused her of “interrupting” him during their broadcast on December 8th.
Collins was left “visibly upset” as a result of Lemon’s temper tantrum, and sources claim that she now wants to work with Don as little as possible. She went as far as firing her agent at the United Talent Agency, Jay Sures, who was also representing Lemon.
After Lemon’s outburst, some people close to Collins have claimed that he made a threatening statement about moving back to Washington, D.C. from New York.
Their relationship was never able to be fixed between Lemon and Collins. According to an exclusive story by RadarOnline.com, Lemon’s second outburst occurred after he learned that the dispute he had with his co-anchor had been publicized in the corporate newsletter.
An insider revealed in February that Don “lost his mind internally and went ballistic at staffers when the CNN newsletter emphasized a story about him yelling.” “Don went ballistic at colleagues after the CNN newsletter highlighted a story about him screaming,” the insider said.
Lemon continued to stoke the flames when he suggested that women are at their sexual and intellectual peak in their “20s, 30s, and maybe 40s,” in reference to Nikki Haley, who is running for president at the age of 51. It was reported that Harlow was incensed by Lemon’s remark, and she quickly exited the set to take a “well-timed” restroom break, with Collins following close behind.

But, their beef goes much beyond than the brawl and Don’s comments that made fun of her age.
