As the search for the lost submersible that was studying the Titanic continues, more information about the people on board is coming to light.

As was already said, the Titan sub has gone missing while “on a mission to look at the wreckage of the Titanic”. About an hour and 45 minutes after it went under the water on Sunday, the OceanGate mission stopped sending signals to the surface.

Since then, no one has been able to get in touch with the ship, so people all over the world are very interested in what happened to it.

One of the people on board was British millionaire Hamish Harding, who had been posting about the days leading up to the trip on his Instagram account.

David Pogue, a CBS reporter who went on a trip in the Titan submersible last year, recently told the BBC that bolts put on from the outside would have sealed the people inside the ship. “Even if you swim to the surface by yourself, there’s no way out,” he said. “You can’t leave the submarine unless someone on the outside lets you out.”

Pogue also said that there was “no way” to talk to the ship right now because neither the GPS nor the radio work underwater. “When the support ship is right above the submarine, they can send and receive short text messages. “It’s clear that they’re no longer being answered,” he said.

The BBC said that the submersible had enough air for 96 hours starting around 6 a.m. on Sunday.

AP News said that the ship hadn’t been seen since “Sunday night about 435 miles south of St. John’s, Newfoundland”. A Canadian Coast Guard ship and a military plane are helping the US Coast Guard in Boston look for the ship.

Rear Adm. John Mauger, a US Coast Guard officer, told the AP that more help would be coming in the next few days: “It is a rural area, and it is hard to look for someone in a place like that. But we are using everything we have to find the boat and get the people on board to safety.”

In an email to the AP, David Concannon, an advisor for OceanGate, said that he was meant to go on the dive but couldn’t because he had to help another client. He did say that the government was working on getting a remotely controlled ship that could go six kilometres deep to the spot as soon as possible.
