After being hospitalised in April for an undisclosed “medical complication,” Jamie Foxx is finally speaking up.

“First of all, I wanna say thank you to everybody that’s prayed, man, and sent me messages,” “he said in a video” that lasted for more than three minutes and was put on his Instagram account on Friday. I can’t tell you how far I had to go or how far I had to come back because of that.

Foxx was hospitalised in April, and his daughter Corinne announced that he was “already on his way to recovery” while filming Back in Action for Netflix in Atlanta. She didn’t reveal many specifics about her health scare at the time.

Foxx has largely avoided the public eye ever since, skipping out on events like the June premiere of They Cloned Tyrone. One of his first public appearances in months was earlier this month, when he was spotted on a yacht.

After media reports indicated that his family was bracing for the worst, Corinne gave an update on her dad’s recuperation in May. My dad was released from the hospital weeks ago and has been doing well ever since. They were just talking about how he played pickleball the day before, and she mentioned it on Instagram. I appreciate the thoughts and well wishes of everyone.

In Friday’s video, the Oscar winner also didn’t provide many specifics on the incident, but he did say, “I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through.”

“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear updates, but to be honest with you, I just didn’t want you to see me like that man,” “he stated. “I want you to see me in a” movie or TV show where I am joking and having a wonderful time. I didn’t want you to watch me struggling to determine my survival while tubes came out of me.

The actor from God Is a Bullet continued by claiming that his sister and daughter’s love and support helped him get better, and that it “saved my life.”

“To them, to God, to a lot of great medical people, I’m able to leave you this video,” he continued. “I cannot tell you how great it feels to have your family kick in in such a way,” he said, “and y’all know they kept it airtight, they didn’t let nothing out, they protected me, and that’s what I hope that everyone could have in moments like these.”

In the video, Foxx also debunks online rumours “that he is “blind” or “paralysed.”

“As you can see, the eyes are working, the eyes are working just fine,” he remarked. I’m not” completely helpless: The path to my healing was not without its bumps, as I went through hell and back. But now I’m on my way back, and I can get back to work.

At the end of the video, Foxx expressed gratitude to his audience for their unwavering support and love.

I adore everyone, and I love all the affection I’ve received, he said. It’s been tough, man, so if you see me out and about from now on and I suddenly start crying, that’s why. Man, I was really ill. But I’m standing firmly on my own two feet now, and I’m not going anywhere.

God be praised!
