He became famous as a contract player for Warner Bros. on the 1957 TV show Maverick. He also played the lead in more than fifty films, including “The Children’s Hour” “with Audrey Hepburn and “The Great Escape” with Steve McQueen”, which is probably the best known.

The pictures are from the movie “The Children’s Hour” except for the one on the right. This one was taken by Yani Begakis on December 19, 1961, at Romanoff’s Restaurant in Beverly Hills, where William Wyler was hosting a dinner.

The opening of their new movie, The Children’s Hour, had just happened. Audrey was wearing the same pink Givenchy dress she wore in Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Little pink fans were all over her dress.

Garner has been gone for only nine years, and since he was only one year older than Audrey, it makes you wonder if she could have lived that long too. She wasn’t as young as Elvis or John Lennon when she died, but she was still too young and a loss that can’t be replaced.
