Riley Reid, who is in adult films, once said that her ex-boyfriend made her feel “disgusting” because of what she did for a living.
Reid, whose real name is Ashley Mathews, is a 32-year-old star who has worked in the adult entertainment business since she was 19 years old.
She was ranked highly among popular adult acts by places like LA Weekly and CNBC, and in 2021, she was inducted into the X-Rated Critics Organisation Hall of Fame.
In 2018, on an episode of Logan Paul’s show imPaulsive, the Florida-born actress talked about how her job has affected her relationships in the past.
Reid is now married to Latvian free-runner Pasha Petkuns and has a baby girl named Emma. She has said that it wasn’t easy to find someone who would love her as a person and support her work.
One of Reid’s ex-boyfriends didn’t want to kiss her on the lips when she got home from work. She said that this made her feel “disgusting” and like she should quit.
“He made me feel like maybe I should quit and stuff, and when I got home from work, he didn’t want to kiss me. So, like, it made me feel like a nasty person,” she said, adding, “It was so awful when he told me that.”
Reid has also said that many of her past relationships ended with men giving her ultimatums and forcing her to choose between them and her job.
Daily Mail says that in 2021, the adult actress wrote in an Instagram post that has since been removed, “I’ve never had a boyfriend who was proud of my job. In my adult life, I’ve had two “normal” boyfriends, which means they don’t do porn.
“Both of them finished with the same choice: porn or them. I picked porn every time. I’ve had trouble with that choice, though, and I’m not sure if I made the right choice,” she said.

Reid had also said in a video that was posted in 2020 and resurfaced on Twitter “that her job had hurt her relationship with her family and” begged people not to go into the business.
“A lot of the time when people ask me if they should do porn, I tell them no. I tell them that it makes life really hard, dating really hard, family life really hard, and intimacy hard,” Reid said in the video that has 2.9 million views. “You have to be okay with being shamed every day of your life.”
The actress started crying when she said that the “shame” she has felt has kept her from starting her own family. She said, “I don’t even want to have children because I do porn, because I’m worried about how people will treat my child.”

She went on to say that her mother had been encouraging at the start of her work, letting her “do whatever,” but that soon changed when she stopped giving her money and set “boundaries.”
“It made our relationship a little harder and almost poisonous, so it’s a bummer,” she said. “I don’t have a mum anymore, I don’t talk to her, and I miss having a mum.”
The adult star also said that her work had caused a rift between her and her “religious” father, who told her that she couldn’t visit him because of her stepmother.
“I can’t go see my dad anymore because my stepmother doesn’t like that I do porn,” she said with tears in her eyes. “When I said, ‘Well, let’s go get coffee or breakfast,’ he said, ‘I don’t want to be seen with you in public,’ which hurt so much and sucked.
She said as she wiped away her tears, “I’ve lost my family. I don’t talk to my brothers or sisters anymore.” I think they all tried to take advantage of me and stuff, or they’re just like my dad and don’t want to be around me.”
