Nas and Lil Wayne’s already successful lives are getting even better.

“Billboard’s 2023 R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players event”, which was held in Los Angeles on Tuesday, was where the two artists were given their awards. This event was also a double celebration because it was the 50th anniversary of Hip Hop. Gail Mitchell, who is the “Executive Director of R&B/Hip Hop at Billboard”, introduced Lil Wayne before he took the stage to accept the award. During his victory speech, he talked briefly about his current job.

“You know I have to thank the man in the sky,” Weezy said. “We also thank you on behalf of those we’ve lost and those we wish were here… And I think I said it best when I told my friends, “I ain’t sh*t without you.” This is for all of you—my friends, people in the crowd, people who support me, people who work for me, people who work with me, people who work near me, and people who work the same job as me. We will use this.”

He also said, “Just a side point, I’m not stopping. They told me when to show up. The studio was where I was. I was told when I could leave. I will return to the studio. I love you all, thank you. “Money! ”

Nas also took the stage and said that when he first started singing, it wasn’t because he wanted to be famous, but because he really loved the music.

“I didn’t get into it to win awards; we got into it because we love the art form,” he said. “It’s been 50 years since Hip Hop started, so we’re having a show at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. 50 years of Hip Hop, and I want to thank some of the people who inspired me…Since DJ Mr. Magic started rap radio and Marley Mall and Red Alert made us make our own mixtapes when this stuff was underground.”

Still, Nas and Wayne are the first people to be put into the Hip Hop Hall of Fame by Billboard.
