Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion will be back on the MTV VMAs stage.
On Saturday, it was revealed that the rappers will perform at the annual awards show, which will be broadcast live from the Prudential Centre in New Jersey on Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. EST.
Cardi, who is 30, and Megan, who is 28, will perform their new song “Bongos.” This is the first time the two Grammy winners have worked together since their hit “WAP,” which they did at the 2021 VMAs.
That year, the raunchy single got the two artists five nods, including for song of the summer, song of the year, best collaboration, and best hip hop. They were also nominated for the highly coveted video of the year award.
Cardi and Megan will perform at the VMAs this year along with “Anitta, Demi Lovato, Doja Cat, Karol G, Kelsea Ballerini, Lil Wayne”, Mneskin, Olivia Rodriguez, and Stray Kids, who have already been announced.
Sean “Diddy” Combs and Shakira, who are being honoured “with the global icon award and the video vanguard award”, will also perform.
On Friday, people could buy and hear the latest song that Cardi and Megan made together.
The song, which has Latin beats, came out with a music video that shows the two of them dancing on the beach and by a pool in fancy clothes, accessories, and fronts of bright colours.
Cardi wore a big teal feathered hat and an orange bikini top in the colourful music video. Megan wore a multicoloured green one-piece and a golden yellow swimsuit with a matching gold skirt in one of her looks.
Near the end of the film, the rappers wore cherry-red swimsuits that matched each other.
Nicki Minaj will host the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, and she will also perform. The show will air live on Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. EST.
